I know that some of you may least expect a tribute to the late Sheldon Brown to come from this guy. Sure I have talked some shit, but most of it was in the name of fun. This man has enriched the lives of many, and for that reason alone I have great respect.
The writings that Sheldon has created for the cycling community's benefit, are yet to be matched. I have referenced his site many times in a pinch, and for introducing anyone to the varied aspects of the bike game, there exists nothing as comprehensive. (or as outdated in appearance; postmortem hate'n) Although I never got to witness him cry when someone resized the chain on his recumbent, or be accused of spilling his toothpicks, or watch him fondle his belly button while gazing out into space, (thank you Jeremy for the insider's perspective) Real recognize real bike geek. Thank you Sheldon.
